I didn't like this novel much, but author's other novel "Just Want to be with You" was good. Maybe ancient setting just wasn't author's forte. 🤷🏻♀️

I wouldn't say it completely sucked.. and now i can tell you why i barely liked it. It started out ok, but then the characters got annoying and then the emperor is just to childish and immature, granted that he is only a teenager but his royal upbringing must be terrible. He made politics seem like a joke. I think the author tried too hard to make the characters unique but didn't work well. The boy XuanZi was the only one i liked 'cause he was cute! Plot was meh, especially dealing with the other country. The subplot was rushed and straight into an abrupt ending - if you can even call it an ending. You don't know if the leads are ok together.. they justbaccept their marriage but i feel FL would still bully ML, make him feel guilty even though he does like her. Just not a healthy marriage with where it stopped at.. nothing feels resolved, so it is a disappointment. But the leads' hot scenes weren't bad - lol, barely redeemable for them. 🤷🏻♀️ (Please elaborate in the future if you express an opinion. It's to help others make a decision to read or not. It would've helped me, but i read it...)
