I haven't started reading this novel yet. I just read a GOT fan fic. It was good. If anyone wants GOT fan fic, try magic mountain of ice and fire. Chinese college student became the mountain, big bro of the hound. First thing he does is to remove mountain's addiction over poppy milk. Story was pretty good till the source material books. There are some minor inconsistencies but you can find reasons to rationalize them. Protagonist is mountain alone. So most of the original main characters are pretty sidelined. But it didn't affect the story. Author put efforts to make characters behave like they would in the book under different situations caused by mountain. First 500 or 600ch are very good. For me story started going downhill slowly with the intro of Euron greyjoy. Because there isn't much in the book, author used tv version. I dropped the story after the night king is dead and mountain forced Daenerys forces out of westeros around 800ch due to character inconsistencies and the drastic plot change. Still I recommend the novel highly. Mc is very charismatic character. He is neither good nor bad with focus only on self preservation, power and authority. He is one of the best player in the game of thrones.
