I don't recommend it. Sentiment is a bit naive don’t you think? Every country on earth besides Liberia was built on countless massacres, rapes, looting, pillaging, and slavery. Wars are bloody as shit my guy and I know that you are just complaining about the excessive nature depicted in this novel, but before the League of Nations and UN that’s how wars went and there were no actual rules. Ofc the greater powers of the time tended to be more refined and rather looked down at those powers who didnt control their soldiers, it wasn’t an ethical issue. The mc might be from more civilized times but the rest of the parallel world he’s now in isnt
