I thought it was good at ch1, but just in ch 2 where the male best friend got too over the line wherein he wants to fight every single time the mc got belittled and tried to control the actions of mc. And also tries to flatter the mc so much that i think he'll just say everything about the mc to other people. Other characters also problematic but I won't continue anymore.

the story was good. world building, character building, plot settings, plot pacing, action, and so on was all good. well at least until 200+ chapters. but somehow i felt turned off when mc were asked to join the enemy. while having phantom beast contract with those abused and fell victim to the poker group, he somehow managed to convinced himself to join them with the logic of hey i want to change them from the inside. does he not care that the very act of him joining them is what makes these villains more arrogant and unscrupulous?? when he join, he would need to do something for the poker group. and his knowledge and expertise will indirectly empower the villain while making the situation worse. if he was a trainer, then his influence is negligible. and thus the act of spying was feasible. but he is a breeder. plus someone who have connections to several experts and he is also a candidate for leader of the dragon group. he basically betraying all the expectations and trust of others under the illusion of changing a mad scientist and murderer group? the very philosophy of poker group is contradictory since they view phantom beast as tools, abused them and disregard the lives of human and beast alike. and the most important thing, he dare to join the very group that torture his pets?? the trauma and hatred the phantom beast carry within them, and mc just trample their feelings by saying hey i want to change the villain so i join them?? that's just bs.
