THE START OF ANOTHER SEMI MODERN HISTORICALLY UNHISTORICAL NOVEL. CAN’T WAIT
So.... war.. irl...
ACTUAL REVIEW TLDR:Decent, recommend trying. Basically a wet dream for socialist. Although it's written by a Chinese who are quite racist and right leaning (as Chinese usually are), it contains all the fantasy of any socialist who time traveled to the Soviet Union would have. For example, 1) miraculously marrying the adopted daughter of Yuri Andropov, a Soviet Gensec that if not because of his death would lead a reform that could possibly make SU the winner of cold war, therefore making MC rise up in ranks like a rocket, 2) Invading Japan, and The US somehow through magic acquiesced and do not escalate further conflict, and a few other magical brain hole that even me a socialist myself can't handle. But other than that, the technical quality of the story is not bad as the author is not a newcomer, the research on specific technical detail of the weapons, vehicles, and equipments are also well done. The author is well known for their military fiction works, so yeah give it a shot.

Read the author's name and already knew what i should be expecting... Sometimes you should just go ahead and judge a book by its cover cuz why the hell not?! There are tons of other books in the world outside and even if missing a good read by mistake wont really mean much loss (read some comments quoting some lines in this novel, already can smell the hypocricy and narrow mindedness)
