The novel had good elements but it’s actual rating is 2-3 stars at best. The Mc gets thrust into problems without solving previous problems first and the author keeps using time skips and adding random details while using the 500 year cultivating knowledge to compensate. The author writes and doesn’t finish thoughts and rushed the story the romance is rushed too. I’ve read 53 chapters in the story and barely anything was explained and there was no character building just a lot of random information thrown around. I won’t bother reading the remaining 50 chapters judging by the pacing I always know things will be even more rush with a sudden hidden conspiracy appearing the the Mc and Ml power up to be the most powerful people and win the battle.

The pacing is poor, the five hundred years are only mentioned as an excuse for the MC not to be harsh on his peers, despite the cultivation background the MC has no concept of resource fighting or intrigue, the author appears to just write whatever comes to mind, the scene changes are janky, the chapters were likely incompletely copied so chunks of story are missing, and I can't even root for the Romance because it's entirely one sided and shallow as of chapter 72

I think it's because yaoi is a relatively new genre to novels and most author who writes yaoi are women.
New? UM i don't think the the Yaoi is 'NEW' I guess after all I seen many yaoi novel 5 Year before..you know?

The harem and romance genres have been written for literally centuries, Yaoi is something that has begun to emerge in the last 10-15 years (before there could be something loose, but as the mentality of the people was very closed it was something very difficult to find). If you compare the genre romande and harem that literally exists in texts from many centuries ago, a period of 10-15 years is extremely short (Logically in the Middle Ages you will not find romance novels in a spaceship, but in general the romance and the harem how many more novels are released compared to Yaoi in the same time at the end it gives the feeling of being all the same because they have already exhausted all the themes they could use and it has become difficult for them to create something new). To give you an idea, only in MTLNovel they release 1 Yaoi novel / 1 Yuri novel / 4-7 romance-harem novels a day (Romance only has 1 daily quota, but if a novel has Romance and Xianxia in their genres and the quota Romance is already used then they count it as Xianxia, but in Yaoi if there is one with Yaoi- Xianxia genres and another with Yaoi-Sci-f genres and both count as Yaoi and they will not put the Yaoi-Xianxia in the daily quota for Xianxia or the Yaoi-Sci-fy in the daily quota for that gender). “Yaoi” has been around for decades western gay romance or fiction is still in its infancy unfortunately and by that I mean a lot of people are still grasping around in the genre because there are fewer people writing it because it doesn’t sell as well so some of the more capable people who can easily do both don’t because it doesn’t make as much as heterosexual romance, that same concept applies to ‘yaoi’ webnovels etc although it’s been around for a long time and there are lots of good works it’s a smaller genre in webnovels plus yeah the people who do write it are more “original” because they either have their own tropes or create new ones by mixing and blending other genres so sometimes because it’s less saturated it can seem more original but believe there are many nearly identical novels you can read on here
